Collection: Single Divan Beds
Single Divan Beds (3FT)
A UK single divan takes a 90cm × 190cm mattress on a fully upholstered base. It is the smallest standard UK size and, in divan form, the one that solves the most storage problems per square metre of floor.
Where a 3FT divan goes
Box rooms, children's and teenagers' bedrooms, loft conversions, studio flats, and guest rooms. These are the rooms where there is no wall left for a wardrobe or a chest of drawers, and a divan base is often the only storage the room will ever get.
It is also the size most often bought in pairs. Two 3FT divans in a shared room give each child their own drawers, which bunk beds cannot — and two singles can be pushed together to form a 6FT super king for guests, then separated again.
Drawer options at 3FT
-
2 drawers — both on one side, the standard configuration. In a narrow room one side is usually against a wall, so this is almost always the right choice.
-
No drawers — plain platform base. Cheapest, and still gives full continuous mattress support.
Four-drawer configurations are rarely worth it at 3FT: the drawers become narrow and you need clear floor on both sides of a bed that is only 90cm wide.
Before you order
-
Floor width: 90cm plus 60cm access. Workable from around 180cm room width, which is why the 3FT fits where nothing else does.
-
Drawer clearance: allow 50–60cm pull-out on the drawer side.
-
Access: a 3FT base is a single piece rather than two halves. Measure your narrowest doorway and stair turn — this is the one size where the base does not split.
